FWIW, I think I *may* be seeing something similar - though I haven't started to
dig into it yet.
I was looking into IP utilisation and realised I have a lot of devices missing.
Looking at one specific switch, I have a port that's showing as up, but nothing
is shown connected to it. I can discover the device manually, and it appears in
NetDisco as a standalone device with no neighbours.

I have followed the guide to set up Netdisco 2.034.

The only departure from the fresh install guide is
I have started with a copy of the old Netdisco database
from 1.3.1 prior to running netdisco-deploy.

I have two daemons running:

# lsof -Pni | grep disco
starman    9035 netdisco    4u  IPv4  74685      0t0  TCP *:5000 (LISTEN)
netdisco-  9173 netdisco   38u  IPv6  78078      0t0  TCP
[::1]:42645->[::1]:5432 (ESTABLISHED)
starman    9183 netdisco    4u  IPv4  74685      0t0  TCP *:5000 (LISTEN)
starman    9183 netdisco    9u  IPv6  73535      0t0  TCP
[::1]:42647->[::1]:5432 (ESTABLISHED)
starman    9184 netdisco    4u  IPv4  74685      0t0  TCP *:5000 (LISTEN)
starman    9184 netdisco    9u  IPv6  78092      0t0  TCP
[::1]:42646->[::1]:5432 (ESTABLISHED)
starman    9185 netdisco    4u  IPv4  74685      0t0  TCP *:5000 (LISTEN)
starman    9185 netdisco    9u  IPv6  75482      0t0  TCP
[::1]:42648->[::1]:5432 (ESTABLISHED)
starman    9186 netdisco    4u  IPv4  74685      0t0  TCP *:5000 (LISTEN)
starman    9186 netdisco    9u  IPv6  76016      0t0  TCP
[::1]:42649->[::1]:5432 (ESTABLISHED)
starman    9191 netdisco    4u  IPv4  74685      0t0  TCP *:5000 (LISTEN)
starman    9191 netdisco    9u  IPv6  73550      0t0  TCP
[::1]:42650->[::1]:5432 (ESTABLISHED)

The logs don't show any errors:

[9184] 2016-11-03 19:22:40  warn App::Netdisco 2.034000 web
[9183] 2016-11-03 19:22:40  warn App::Netdisco 2.034000 web

[9191] 2016-11-03 19:22:41  warn App::Netdisco 2.034000 web

If I telnet to 5000, it connects and kicks the connection out in less than
5 seconds.

# telnet localhost 5000
Trying ::1...
Trying 127.0.0.1...
Connected to localhost.
Escape character is '^]'.
Connection closed by foreign host.

Visiting the site with netdisco.example.com:5000 produces "Not found"
in the chrome browser, which is indicating it reaches it but it produces
nothing.

There is no SELinux enabled. There are no iptables set up.

I am stuck and I can't find search results of anyone
else troubleshooting the basic connection to Netdisco.

Hello...

I'm having a play with netdisco, just done a fresh install. I've set it off
discovering things, which it seems to be doing quite happily for the most
part but I'm seeing a few odd things.

One example switch that it found early in the discovery process has an
error against it saying it can't make an snmp connection.

I've attemped a manual discover of that switch with: ~/bin/netdisco-do -D
discover -d <ip address>

That works just fine, no errors and now it's in the database. However if I
attempt a discover through the web interface it errors.

What have I missed?

Is that looking normal?

Again, I have the same issue: port 5000 is listening, but no connections
are accepted. I don't see an auth prompt. Just a Page Not Found.

Also did

~/bin/netdisco-do -D discover -d XXX.YYY.0.1
and it added some stuff, but there is no difference in
connecting. I see starman running and listening on *:5000
>From a remote system I can do nmap -p 5000 and it shows
the port is open.

What am I missing?
