Hi Christian,

In Netdisco 2.039026, which is now on CPAN, there is an update to the
Palo Alto sshcollector module. Please would you try it and let us know
how you get on?

regards,
oliver.

Are you able to share your sshcollector configuration? Please redact
usernames/passwords/IPs if you can.

Thanks,

SUBJECT: error trying to run netdisco-sshcollector on ubuntu16.0.4 -
Palo Alto

Hi,

I've got a working Netdisco2 setup (SNMP-only) and would like to use
netdisco-sshcollector to query my Palo Alto Firewalls.

I added the entry for sshcollector to my deployment.yml file and

When I try to run netdisco-sshcollector from CLI as netdisco , I get
the following error:

./netdisco-sshcollector -DDDDQQ

[18681] 2018-03-28 22:57:41 debug <FW IP Addr> 18681 arpnip()

"unable to run remote command at
/home/netdisco/perl5/lib/perl5/App/Netdisco/SSHCollector/Platform/Pal
o
Alto.pm
line 42, <__ANONIO__> line 2."

Has anyone seen this before? I'm not sure what's failing.

Regards,

Chris

Hi Pavel

Did you get anywhere by increasing the snmptimeout or the bulkwalk_timeout settings?

regards,
oliver.

Hello Oliver,

thanks for the tip, I tried snmpget for .1.3.6.1.2.1.1.3.0 on all of
those devices, and I always got a response that looks similar to this:
iso.3.6.1.2.1.1.3.0 = Timeticks: (3893960731) 450 days, 16:33:27.31

I checked - every day there are maybe 5 more error messages with this
log, and those are always different ones, never the same.

Bulkwalk timeout - maybe I need to tweak that, some devices are 300ms
away.

Hi Pavel

You can try to ask for sysUpTimeInstance from net-snmp direct, if
you are familiar with the snmpget command line.

However this device also has a problem with BULKWALK Timeout as
also mentioned in the logs, so I wonder if there is a problem on the
device?

oliver.
