Hi Tom
So if I understand correctly, the VLAN name (or description/alias) is
displayed on the HPE but on Extreme you only get "VLAN xxxx". You have
checked and the names are available via SNMP.
The Extreme device will have an SNMP::Info class shown in the Device
Details tab of Netdisco. In this class we need to override the v_name()
method (or fix it if it already exists) to return the correct mapping
from VLAN index (v_index() method) to name.
This can be tested using:
bin/netdisco-do show -d 1.2.3.4 -e v_name
If this is beyond your capabilities, then you can open a ticket in the
SNMP::Info github repo and provide the device class and the SNMP table
walk output (snmpwalk -ObentU ....).
Thanks,
regards,
oliver.

Hi folks,
I've got two models of switch that I'm monitoring with NetDisco -
Extreme X460's and HPE 1920's.
My edge vlans have the same name set on both devices, but while
netdisco reads this correctly from the Extremes, it reads it from the
HPE devices as "VLAN XXXX" where XXXX is the vlan number -- this means
my VLAN inventory contains two entries for each VLAN number.
I've done an SNMP get on the switch and vlan names are correctly
available via SNMP.
Is there anything I can do to fix this from my end?
Kind regards,
Tom

Hi Chris
Do you get a little green popup notification that the positions are
saved, either when you click Save button or when the activity spinner
(bottom right corner) turns green?
Have you cleared your browser cache and also restarted netdisco-web?
Thanks,
Oliver.

Even though the UI is reporting that the positions have been saved,
when I navigate away from a view and return, the map is reset.
