I want to add to this: We have many Netgear S3300-28/52X-switches. The
behaviour is still as described by TO. If you delete the lines " 4526 =>
'SNMP::Info::Layer2::Netgear'" in "/home/netdisco/perl5/lib/perl5/SNMP/Info.pm"
the port information in Netdisco is correct. But the vendor and model
information fields are not populated correctly. Instead it shows the vendor
number 4526.
Kind regards,
Andre

Sounds like the age-old challenge of picking from ifDescr, ifName and
ifAlias and different platforms using them differently
An update to SNMP::Info might be required

i ran into the same issue with lenovo switches, i think decent way to handle
this can be derived from:
https://github.com/netdisco/snmp-info/blob/543072ca259a21c7f9f3f852b6b6df9f7acbbfb8/lib/SNMP/Info/Layer3/Lenovo.pm#L71-L77
the perldoc part is here:
https://github.com/netdisco/snmp-info/blob/543072ca259a21c7f9f3f852b6b6df9f7acbbfb8/lib/SNMP/Info/Layer3/Lenovo.pm#L293-L299<https://github.com/netdisco/snmp-info/blob/543072ca259a21c7f9f3f852b6b6df9f7acbbfb8/lib/SNMP/Info/Layer3/Lenovo.pm%23L293-L299>
now, the snmp::info aruba module has had quite some extensive work done it
seems when looking at the code:
https://github.com/netdisco/snmp-info/blob/543072ca259a21c7f9f3f852b6b6df9f7acbbfb8/lib/SNMP/Info/Layer3/Aruba.pm#L202-L343
regretfully the aruba module does not mention which os version it was tested
with, but since the last changes were from 2014 perhaps the mib info has
drifted to far to be usefull with newer devices.

Basically the descriptions on the physical interfaces netdisco is not getting
that information.
It is just obtaining thr default interface name like ge0/0/0
It clasifies the controllers correctly and captures info about them so that
part works fine.

mentions 7220 and 7030, so they are probably supported. You don't give us much
else to go on.

Do these work yet or some slight adjustments to SNMP info need to be made?
Thanks
