Hi Joseph,

Yes, indeed it does - I've got three Juniper switches at home, and they all
report their LLDP neighbours correctly, for instance:

root@loft-switch<mailto:root@loft-switch>> show lldp neighbors
Local Interface Parent Interface Chassis Id Port info System Name
ge-0/0/0.0 - 2c:3a:fd:a7:df:7e LAN:4 fritz.box
ge-0/0/22.0 ae0.0 a8:d0:e5:be:6e:40 Loft uplink 1 workshop-switch
ge-0/0/23.0 ae0.0 a8:d0:e5:be:6e:40 Loft uplink 2 workshop-switch
ge-0/0/20.0 - ac:4b:c8:2f:f0:40 uplink to loft office-switch

{master:0}
root@loft-switch<mailto:root@loft-switch>>

- even getting an LLDP response from my router.

Cheers,
James

Does the Juniper show the HP as a neighbor when you do “show lldp neighbors”?

Subject: [Netdisco] Can't get neighbours from Juniper EX switches

Hi All,

I'm testing netdisco at home for work purposes, and while it discovers the
neighbour links from my HP switch without issue, I have trouble with the
Juniper switches, which is what we have at work.

During discovery, I get

netdisco@home-netman<mailto:netdisco@home-netman>:~$ bin/netdisco-do discover
-d 192.168.1.248
[232048] 2021-01-12 17:09:41 info App::Netdisco version 2.047002 loaded.

[232048] 2021-01-12 17:10:40 info discover: status done: Ended discover for
192.168.1.248

and despite adding the suggested config to my Junipers' LLDP config as
described at
https://github.com/netdisco/netdisco/wiki/Vendor-Tips#neighbor-relations-on-juniper-ex
 the links are not discovered. Is there something I'm missing?

The config on my Junipers looks thus:

root@workshop-switch<mailto:root@workshop-switch># show protocols
igmp-snooping {
vlan all;
}
rstp;
lldp {
management-address 192.168.1.248;
port-id-subtype interface-name;
interface all;
}
lldp-med {
interface all;
}

(is management-address the address of the management interface of the switch,
or the address of the netdisco server?)

Cheers,
James
