Anyone have an idea how to retrieve arp and neighbor information for a Cisco
VXLAN fabric? Since we have migrated to the Fabric, I’ve been losing the
ability to poll for that information. I think it’s because the ARP and Neighbor
Information resides in the fabric and not on the routers. The fabric is managed
by NDFC (or whatever Cisco decided to name it this week 😊), so I’m wondering if
I can pull it from there.

Thanks!
-Neil

Hi Neil,

Well, ideally the NDFC provides SNMP (or the function can be switched on)
and Netdisco talks to that. Although, as I understand it, NDFC is a
management plane item (I'm not using it myself) so perhaps it's not the
place for realtime mac-port mappings and so on (?).

There is the option in Netdisco to scrape the command-line over SSH. The
way this works for mac-port mappings is that it still needs to be the
device with the ports. However for ARP tables (ip-mac) they can come from
any device, or even a central one, Netdisco doesn't mind.

Do you think either is an option?
