Issue #1907 has been reported by Mark Shetka.

----------------------------------------
Bug #1907: BIND config exporter not always detecting change
https://osl.uoregon.edu/redmine/issues/1907

Author: Mark Shetka
Status: New
Priority: Normal
Assignee:
Category:
Target version:
Resolution:

The config exporter for BIND is not always detecting changes. In particular I
notice this when readdressing something from one IP address to another.

Example
An A record test.example.com points to 131.212.7.3
There is a reverse zone with a PTR 131.212.7.3 pointing to test.example.com

Within the Netdot GUI I navigate to 131.212.7.3, edit, change it to a new IP
address, and click save. The PTR and A record now reflect the new IP address
within the GUI. Problem is when I export the BIND config it only detects a
change in either the forward or reverse zone, but never both as it should.

A workaround is to check "Force export even if no pending changes" when
exporting.

This issue only seems to occur when readdressing something (never a delete or
new add).
