Hi Carlos,

I just read in your previous mail

'This table is rotated periodically (prune_db in cron job), so maybe
this process failed to complete, and left and incomplete DB.'

I'm using netdot 1.0.2, the prune_db.pl script with this version doesn't
do rotate, it seems to just drop the table (arpcache/fwtable)

I ran prune_db.pl -r -d 7 -F

DEBUG: init: dbi:mysql:dbname=netdot;host=localhost;mysql_local_infile=1
DEBUG: Connected successfully
INFO - Tables fwtableentry, fwtable rotated successfully
DEBUG: Disconnected successfully

Afterwards fwtableentry and fwtable are empty

mysql> select * from fwtable;
Empty set (0.01 sec)

mysql> select * from fwtableentry;
Empty set (0.01 sec)

(Luckily I had a backup ;)

Wim

Carlos,

I was able to fix my database by using webmin (I know not the best
app) I was able to create the table 'fwtable' and copy the field data
from an existing table of ' fwtable_1352623504'

I then ran the update script and all appears to be well.

Thanks to Wim who pointed me in the right direction.

It drops it and then creates it again. It's a much faster way to delete
large numbers of rows in mysql.

The fwtable, fwtableentry, arpcache and arpcacheentry grow to millions
of rows in our network, so we empty them once a week.

You should really upgrade. 1.0.1 has some nasty bugs.

I've just encountered a use for this, when creating a wrong Ipv6 range
(somethings you miss a digit ;), it's handy to be able to modify the address.

That is a good point. I can't imagine a situation in which you would
want to change the address of an IP object. I've never had to myself.

I will probably remove that option, unless someone gives me a good
reason not to.

Regards,

There are 51 of them for me now, so I only see, that it is more than 50,
but I can not find, where can I set the configured limit higher!

Please help!
