Hi
Im pretty new to this great tool, and Im still finding new things to test.
I am wondering how to add support for new devicetypes. I have firewalls
from PaloAlto which cannot be added to netdot.
>From what I have read it is the missing sysServices oid that causes this.
I also read from an old mail that support for new devices can (should?) be
added to the project SNMP::Info, is this still true?
The firewalls does answer to snmp and has it own mibs, but the sysServices
does not exist.. is it still possible to get it supportet by netdot?
Would be really nice fetching interfaceconfig and arp info by polling it.
So in short, is it possible and worth the job adding paloalto as a
supported device?
(by the way, is there a list of supported devices anywhere? Or is it most
of the devices in SNMP_MIB_DIRS?
Thanks for a great tool
/Christer

NETDOT uses SNMP::Info for device discovery. SNMP::Info supports a
large group of vendors and vendors' devices. To add support for a
device or a vendor that SNMP::Info does not currently support, I'd
suggest that it would be best to start there at:
