I have the qestion about ip block stsus.
The documentation shows that the *discovered *is the "Addresses that have
not been assigned as static or dynamic, but have been seen on the network
(as part of ARP entries, for example)."
When I browse "Subnet Block View" of one of my subnets I can see some
discovered, static and reserved addresses. All other addresses in that
subnet are marked as *available*.
But if I open current ARP table I can see much more addresses. Why, then,
in the subnet view they are marked as available, and not discovered?
Thank you

Hi,
What DB are you using? Pg?
I?m looking at the code and it would seem that it does the right thing for
MySQL, but not for Pg.

Hmm, strange.
The main implication is that a ?discovered? address should not be automatically
assigned when requesting a new ?Static? IP for a DNS record. On the other hand,
?Available? addresses would.
?Discovered? addresses should be considered an anomaly. It means that someone
is using an address that was not allocated/documented.
The TTL variable you mention is not related.
I have created ticket https://osl.uoregon.edu/redmine/issues/1854 to look into
this issue. At the very least, the Pg case needs to be fixed.
