Hi everybody, I appreciate all the responses I got, which confirmed that I
should be able to get this to work, and suggested approaches to
understanding what is going on.

Our security setup is such that we do not allow anybody to start a session
as the standard ND user 'netdyn'. My hunch, which I will try to confirm on
Monday, is that this is the root (no pun intended ;-) ) of the problem.

It would be very helpful if those of you who reported success with Exceed
could tell me whether you start sessions as 'netdyn', or whether you have
another scheme. If you're not comfortable discussing this in a public
forum, please send me an email, either with the information, or given that
email is not protected either, I'd be happy to call you.

Thanks,
-- Curt
