Is this ND 4.1.3?
If so, on the remote machine you are trying to connect to, check the pl.properties
file to make sure it's
starting the SM. One trick you should try is to "cp /usr/java/bin/java
/usr/java/bin/netdyn_SM_service" and
modify your pl.properties to run "netdyn_SM_service" instead of "java." This way, if
the SM dies on
the remote NetDyn server, you can login and do a "ps -ef | grep SM" to see if the SM
is dead.
Also, make sure you set a fixed SM port. Check to see that it's hardcoded on the
server's pl.properties using "-DOAport 12345" I believe,
where 12345 is an example. Otherwise, every time you save and apply a Partition, the
IOR files get regenerated and
you'll have to recopy them over to your Console machine.
