This is a *very* version specific question.
I guess you are complaining about the OSAgent and its broadcast.

The solution is to use ND 4.13 and then you can configure the ndCGI to use
one socket with a text file and some changes in the command center.
Actually you could upgrade to ND 5.x and this is the default.

Otherwise the answer is no.

        Is there a way of forcing ndCGI to use IOR files to locate the the
app server instead of going through the ORB.

        Basically, we have our web and app server running on two different
machines, both running on Solaris.
        We want that the ndCGI program on the web server is using the app
server's IOR files which we copied into the 
        web server's cgi-bin directory to locate the app server, instead of
going through the ORB to find it. 

        Is this possible. If yes, what do we have to do? We tried it already
but it doesn't work.
