If you are using the NetDynamics 4.1.3.8 you can use the ndPluginCGI.exe/
ndPluginISAPI.dll/ndPluginNSAPI.dll; all you need to do is start the plugin
server on the Application Server at a specified port and on the web server
side modify the ndconfig.nd file specify all the application servers that
participate
in the cell.

The Plugin component does not use the OSAgent. Using the OSAgent
is valid only if you are in the same subnet.

The IORs are required if you use the ndCGI.exe/ndISAPI.dll etc but you need
the other support dll for a web only installation.

Use the plugin server it solves most issues.

Hope this helps.

Subject: [ND] Can ndCGI be forced to use IOR files instead of using the
      ORB

Is there a way of forcing ndCGI to use IOR files to locate the the app
server instead of going through the ORB.

Basically, we have our web and app server running on two different
machines, both running on Solaris.
We want that the ndCGI program on the web server is using the app server's
IOR files which we copied into the
web server's cgi-bin directory to locate the app server, instead of going
through the ORB to find it.

Is this possible. If yes, what do we have to do? We tried it already but it
doesn't work.
