I wanted to follow up on my issue just in case someone else was interested in the
resolution:
After thinking about everyone's questions and comments, I decided to attempt a few
configuration changes on my machine.
I first assigned a static IP to my machine. This didn't fix the issue. The second
thing I tried was to move my PCMCIA token
ring card from the docking station, into my workstation. This unfortunately resulted
in loosing all network capabilities.
Neither my LAN Services personnel or myself could restore network connection no matter
what we attempted. This
resulted in a total wipe of the machine and a reinstall from the ground up.
This time I installed the card in the notebook. I am still using DHCP. And ND works
at both work and home now. So I
guess we will never know what really was causing the issue.
Thanks for the suggestions.
