Hello, a question about stopping the app server. ND support has been unable
to assist over the last few weeks. We're running HP-UX 10.20, but don't let that stop
you
Solaris users who may have insight.

ND app server runs fine, but the process launcher misbehaves every time we
shut down (using "ndappsrv stop", which just sends SIGINT to the proc launcher). I
don't
see any other symptoms or problems with ND, it runs our projects just fine.

All of the services shut down gracefully. At the very end, the PL complains
about receiving signal 15, and unceremoniously dumps core. "file core" reveals that
the process launcher died after receiving a SIGBUS.

This happens every time, even with clean OS install, ND install, &c. We have
followed all of the installation instructions, and have the latest patch CD (2/99)
applied
to our system. I've tried it with Java 1.15, 1.16, and 1.17, no difference.

Of course, Java shouldn't really matter, since this is an ordinary PA-RISC
binary,
and all things Java have been shut down gracefully by the time the problem occurs. Can
anybody identify the cause? Can I do a post-mortem on the corefile? If so, how?

Thank you in advance for any advice that you can offer.

        -best regards,
        Craig S. Bell
