I agree with the other two reply.
It is very likely that you query will take just as long to do if you run it without ND.
Since you say it is a view look at how many tables it uses and how they are join 
together.
Make sure you have index for the columns that you are joining.
Also I have found any views which have more than 3 tables will have some chance to 
take a long time.
I have done a lot of trial and error stuff to optimize the SQL to use more in (x,y,z) 
and eliminate some tables from the join.
Some times I split the SQL into two.
I am just a user and not an expert in SQL.
Sometimes I am amaze what a big performance different I get by just chnaging a little 
bit in my SQL statement.
That is why I am not a DBA.
