Nag, I have seen this error when I have a combobox on a numeric column which could be null. So when the column's value is null it tries to convert that into a double/long to select it. I have gotten around this problem by hiding this nullable column and creating a seperate combobox based on the dataObject I was going to use for the hidden field. Since this combobox is not bound to the data object for the page I manually populate it in the combobox's 'onBeforeDisplayEvent' .After that I check the value of the hidden field and if that's not null I select that partcular item in my combobox.
