I've never done anything with multiple projects at once, but I find this
surprising, based on my understanding of how sessions / web events work.
If somebody doesn't reply based on actual experience, I would suggest
opening a call with support.
The only thing I can think of is that perhaps you are opening new sessions
inadvertently from one web event to the next. You might want to try some
diagnostic messages, maybe display the session ID to confirm that when you
put and get the session object, you are in fact in the same session, from
ND's point of view.
