We are currently trying to deploy a multi-machine configuration of ND4.1.3 where each
machine has two network cards (each with its own IP address). The IP
addresses are
on two separate network segments. The primary IP address (DNS for the
machine's
name resolves to this address) should be the address by which NetDynamics and
Visigenics
Orb communicate. The secondary IP address is for backup purposes only. The
secondary
IP address is a unique entry in DNS, with a different machine name from the
primary
         IP address.

We have been having terrible trouble forcing NetDynamics to use the primary IP address
of the machine. It almost seems that NetDynamics uses the first network card
it
finds when it starts up. Is there any way to specify the IP address that
NetDynamics
uses for the machine that it is on? I have tried changing the partition
parameter
in the pl.properties file from localhost to the IP address of the machine.
Although
this helps to solve the IP address problem (I have turned on logging for
osagent
and can see that NetDynamics is now using the correct address), after the
change
(and a restart) the Command Center is no longer able to reliably find the
running
         configuration.

Any ideas?

We are running with:
NT4 SP4
Windows NT Option Pack (IIS 4)
Oracle 7 drivers
JDK 1.1.7A
NetDynamics 4.1.3
