Hello, I am not completely understanding how NetDynamics 4.13 handles text and was hoping someone could explain. There are two issues: 1. When the NDRDbms service retreives textual information from a database, how does it know what the character encoding is of the database (or does it)? How does it convert characters in the database encoding to Unicode for Java (or does it)? Is there any conversion being performed? 2. When NetDynamics renders an Html page given textual information from a database and the ND Html template, what character encoding does it use? My problem, I am using an Oracle8i database which is using the UTF8 character encoding. I have English, European, and Japanese data stored in this database. When I retreive data through ND and send it to the page, the Japanese characters are corrupted. Is there a fix for this, or a specific configuration? I've tried installing ND on a pure Japanese NT Server, but no luck here either.
