Is there anyone out there running a successful HP-UX NetDyn 4.12 implementation
successfully ? One that doesn't crash everyday ?
If so, could you please share your successfull settings ? Or at least point to some
areas that you resolved and it took care of some problems.
If not, what kind of problems do you have, and what are you trying to fix ?
We are running an D370 class HP-UX with 856M memory. We only have Netscape Enterprise
3.5.1 and NetDyn 4.12 loaded on it. The Netdyn apps go against an Oracle 7.3.4
database
running on a separate NT box.
The PE service is running out of process.
The CP service workers are running out of process.
We have 4 CP workers with 10 clients
The DB service has 5 workers, with a max of 10 connections per process and DB.
The ND services will run for a while (anywhere between a few hours to a day and a
half) then we'll see the DBMS workers begin disappearing and eventually all of the
service will crash.
In the Default Log we'll see DBMS Service "revokeReservation" messages. In the
Service Manager log we'll see lots of "no free workers" followed by the CP services
shutting down.
I'm working with ND tech support, but it currently is a game of try this, now try
that. Nothing with any "real-life" value.
So, I'm pleading, asking for someone with "real-life" experiences in the HP-UX realm
to share your knowledge, or just give us something more to look at. What worked
for kernel setting ? What worked for NetDyn setting ?
Thanks for your help.
