I think the only way is to use some place holder (e.g. $$$) to be replaced
by the rght label in the  button_onBeforeHtmlOutput event. 

A much more elegant way would be to have two buttons and make the unwanted
one diappear in
button_onBeforeDispaly by 'return SKIP'.
