Hi,

When trying to run a PeopleSoft message definition data object I get the following
error:

testMessageDefinitions.doAddUpdateNames.triggerDatabaseErrorEvent: execution of the
DataObject 'doAddUpdateNames' has failed:
testMessageDefinitions.doAddUpdateNames. System error code is 5 (HRDEVL: PSMsgConnect
failed, topic=|MA31005| : Message Agent not present : )
testMessageDefinitions.doAddUpdateNames. Vendor error#1 code is 2 (HRDEVL:ORACLE: )
testMessageDefinitions.doAddUpdateNames. Vendor error#2 code is 0 ()

as well as a Dr Watsons saying that an application error has occurred with psftmsg.exe.

I'm running ND 4.1.3 with the PeopleSoft PAC 7.5 on my local machine and trying to
connect to a 3-tier configuration of PS 7.5
running over an Oracle 8 database both of which are on a Unix HP-UX 11.00 box.

The PSAPISRV process is running on the PS app server and the operator I am using has
the 'Allowed to start app server' option checked. My local PS client is configured to
point to the app server rather than the
Oracle database. I have renamed psftmsg75.exe to psftmsg.exe.

I did notice after installing the PS PAC 7.5 that the message agent command line read
PSMAG.EXE -CTORACLE -CDDBNAME -COUSERNAME -CPPASSWORD
as with PS 7.0 and I've tried changing this both to the PSFTMSG.EXE -CTORACLE
-CDDBNAME -COUSERNAME -CPPASSWORD format and to the PSFTMSG.EXE -COUSERNAME
-CPPASSWORD format.

I can Telnet to the PS app server and connect to it via the PS client on my local
machine. I also have connectivity to the Oracle database. However I cannot connect ND
to PS via the message agent.

All suggestions would be gratefully received!!

Allison
