Try to get a copy of the document Migration from ND to iPlant.

Created by IntraSolv Consulting for the alliance.

It will give you a pretty good picture of what you are asking.

The only question it did not cover is if you can take the ND classes and use it on 
other products.
That is a liciense problem.
I would assume no unless you obtain the ok from ND.
