I'm not even a student and haven't ever been one ;) In fact, I wouldn't
even have the necessary highscool diploma to enter university.

This is of course a bug. I've looked through the code, and there are the 
same problems with '-s !' '-d !' '-i !' '-o !' and most other options we
have.  

I'm currently fixing this bug and the bugfix will be included in the
1.2.6 iptables release.
