For messenger, particularly Windows Messenger, you need a UPnP enabled device.  Otherwise, you'd need a couple other conntrack modules which haven't been wrote.  For an experimental UPnP Internet Gateway Device take a look at our program.  It's pretty stable, there might be a memory issue with it, I don't think there is because I've let it run for 2 weeks with no problems. 
 
Second thought, I'll keep your email and send you a link later today, we are in the process of putting up a webpage for it and putting the GPL license stuff into it.  But we will release it today. 
 
Anyone willing to help out, drop me a line.  It would really help to have a couple guys on board who know netfilter, since on linux, this is our primary firewalling software.  Peace.
