Hello! everyone

Can anyone please give me a step by step procedure on
how to setup a DMZ using Red Hat Linux 7.2 or 7.1.

I have an application running on Windows NT server
that I need to secure from hacker penetration.

The Windows NT machine has a FTP server, MySql
database and Apache Web server running on it. The file
transfer is being done through a modem on a handheld
device to the modem on the Windows NT box. As you can
see there are lot of vulnerabilities.

I have read of this concept of DMZ and it seems it is
possible to isolate the FTP & Web server from the
application by putting it on a different subnet. But I
am not sure how to do it.

So, I would like to perform NAT and hide the Windows
machine behind a firewall running on Linux 7.1 or 7.2.

I am in the process of reading about iptables to write
a firewall script to secure the above mentioned
system.

Please let me know if someone can guide me for the
above issues.

Last question, which one of the two RHL 7.1 or 7.2 is
better for security purposes.

I know I 've asked several questions ;-)

Kindly suggest some way to accomplish this.

Thanks in advance

Suchit Mishra
