Nice feature of MS Outlook is to easily add address as contact and then specify how E mail is sent per contact. Did that instead.
IPTables are not listed in ismod output. There are not any folders beneath usr/src. I have not compiled the kernel fresh install from Redhat 2.4. In another response the Jeffery Humes said look into /lib/modules/'username'... There was only one folder beneath .../modules and that was /2.4.7-10/ Below that folder was /kernel/net/ipv4/netfilter and there was a file a file iptables.o there I assume from all of this that I have iptables compiled into the kernel. I am having problems but I am working towards the solution one question at a time. What are the advantages to doing it either way. -----Original Message----- From: Gerhard Ackermann [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Tuesday, March 05, 2002 10:04 AM To: Ron Darling Subject: Re: Netfilter support in table or kernal ? Hi, nice background. Unfotunately MS Outlook has the habit of making emails unreadable for some mail clients other than MS. Please set your Outlook to use text-only for internet mail. Or both RTF and Text. Thanks Gerhard P.S. assuming netfilter is working an you are just curious: # lsmod shows you all currently loaded modules. If it's not there and it's working, it's in the kernel. assuming that your kernel was compiled on your machine. (Works for RedHat LINUX) # cd /usr/src/linux or # cd /usr/src/linux-2.4 or whatever your kernel version is. (linux or linux-2.4 is as link to the directory which actually contains the kernel sources.) # make menuconfig go to 'Networking Options' go to 'IP: Netfilter Configuration' <M> stands for module <*> stands for compiled into kernel < > not installed > Ron Darling wrote: > > How do I find out if I have NetFilter support currently in Kernal or > as a module. > > Ron Darling > President Ix.sys, Inc. > http://www.ixsys.com > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > 817.377.0925 -- _______________________________________________________________________ MANIC GmbH Management Information Consulting GmbH Otto-Hahn-Str. 31 Tel.: +49 6103 70657-0 63303 Dreieich Fax : +49 6103 70657-77
