Hi,

I am running debian woody on my nat firewall. Kernel is 2.4.19-pre2-ac2 and
iptables 1.2.5. I use narc 0.6.1 to create iptables rules. I have one linux
computer and one windows computer on small internal LAN behind the firewall
that does DNAT.

I can access internet normally without any problems from all three computers.
When I try to access the firewall computer itself, it takes a long time. E.g.
creating ssh connection to server takes 30-60 secs before password is asked.
After connection is created, everything is normal. This problem is most
irritating when using the www-site that resides on firewall box. Each page
request takes 10-20 secs. Also ssh'ing from firewall back to linux computer
on internal LAN takes same 10-20 secs.

At first I had this problem only occasionally, and it took no more than 1 day
until it worked well again. Now I have the problem all the time, even reboot
wont help. I heard two of my friends experiencing the same problem. They are
both running Mandrake on their server/firewall.

I hope that someone can help with this irritating problem.

BR, samppa
