Patrick's completely right. Newnat is scheduled for kernel submission. It will go first into 2.5.x and then be backported to 2.4.x. However the H.323 helper - just because of the reasons Patrick wrote above - won't go into the kernel, it'll remain in patch-o-matic. As soon as the newnat API is in the kernel, all the current difficulties around newnat/h323 will disappear.
