Sounds like "the cure for everything" to me. Is this a Microsoft thing? I am not sure i have problem in doing voice communication behind linux-iptables firewall. When i searched MSN help page they mention about "universal plug and play" enabled firewall and NAT that can overcome the problem. > > If not how to how to make SIP(session initation protocol) & RTP(real time > > protocol)traverse through iptables firewall. > > What IP protocol and port numbers do these protocols use? UDP 5004 to 65535 port. Even this was mentioned in MSN help page to follow this if we are using non-UPnP enabled firewall and NAT. They mentioned as these two protocal uses UDP port 5004-65535 to traverse between two MSN clients.
