I try not to use Windows. Ever. But now and again I have to. It's like
having to go to the loo.

I read somewhere, that pre-XP didn't have the possibility of using raw
sockets. Oh yes, it was the famous Mr. Gibson. And that ICMP raw socket
echo requests wouldn't be possible - that the whole thing was fudged
with UDP or TCP.

So there must be a distinction between pre-XP and post-XP tracert. Or
not?
