Thanks for the answers guys... Obviously, what I forgot to send is the info for my machine.
kernel 2.4.18 and (according to Ramin's indication) iptables 1.2.7-20020528 The ipt_mark is compiled in the kernel as are all the options for iptables. I am using just IPv4 with no IPv6 support. Tried also the 0x1 value. It still produces the same error. Any ideas? Thanks again Panos Gotsis
