It appears to me that you are trying to open a corrupted .nlogo file.

Also, it looks like it wasn't corrupted by NetLogo itself, but by a
version control system, during a merge operation that resulted in a
conflict that was never resolved.  That's what the mention of "<<<<<<<
HEAD" indicates.
