It's hard to figure out because the extension doesn't seem to come with any instructions. If I ever even tried it myself before, it was years ago and I don't remember.
You might try contacting the original author of the extension, Josh Cough, and/or the authors of the revised UC Davis version. I fooled with it a little and got as far as figuring out that you're not supposed to open client.html in your browser directly. Rather, you make sure the model and the html file are in the same directory, then start the activity and open http://localhost:8080 in your browser.
