OK, thanks for confirming that it is intentional. I think this is a
serious mistake,
but the length of the arguments that have taken place around this suggests
that it will likely not be fruitful to debate it. Despite that, I will
make one
observation: it really is NOT debatable that the current behavior prevents
the production of good looking plain text and good looking HTML. This is
generally recognized, and not just by Markdown users and developers,
but also users and developers of reStructuredText. Nicely formatted
(i.e., easily readable) plain text paragraphs must include line breaks that
are not appropriate in the rendered output. I trust the NetLogo developers
are aware that many NetLogo users edit their NetLogo files in a text editor,
not in the NetLogo editor. Allowing us to produce nicely readable (in our
text
editor) documentation for the Info tab should at least be a consideration.

I believe the current ambiguity in the NetLogo documentation allows the
change to a better approach. Just add visible spaces to the breaking-lines
example and turn off `HARDWRAPS`, and you will provide users with
access to both worlds.

Btw, notice how Markdown works on this user group ... thank goodness!
