I have a JVC GR-DVM5, but I had the same problem as you until I followed the
following steps:
To overide the automatic shut off feature:
1. Use the power supply
2. Make sure there is no tape in the camera (if there is the camera
thinks it should save power)
3. Make sure the dial is on "A"
The camera then stayed on for the full NetMeeting session. Perhaps this is
your problem.
