Hi, all, The draft-ma-netmod-with-system-00 was submitted(https://www.ietf.org/archive/id/draft-ma-netmod-with-system-00.txt ). This draft tries to capture the discussion both on the NETMOD virtual interim meeting about 2 weeks ago and on the mailing list (a thread called "system configuration sync mechanism"). There are still some open issues that may need further discussion(especially the sticking point whether we want <running> always be valid), the authors try to track all these open issues in the Appendix C section. Any further comments and suggestions are welcome.

Name: draft-ma-netmod-with-system Revision: 00 Title: System-defined Configuration Document date: 2021-10-25 Group: Individual Submission Pages: 29 URL: https://www.ietf.org/archive/id/draft-ma-netmod-with-system-00.txt Status: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ma-netmod-with-system/ Htmlized: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/draft-ma-netmod-with-system Abstract: This document updates NMDA [RFC 8342] to define a read-only conventional configuration datastore called "system" to hold system- defined configurations. To support non-NMDA servers, a "with-system" parameter has been defined to return <running> and system-defined configuration combined. The solution enables clients to reference nodes defined in <system>, overwrite values of configurations defined in <system>, and configure descendant nodes of system-defined nodes.
