Dear NETMOD Working Group,

I'd like to introduce a new individual Internet-Draft that may be of
interest to the working group:

draft-williams-netmod-lm-hierarchy-topology-00
"Hierarchical Topology for Language Model Coordination"
https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-williams-netmod-lm-hierarchy-topology/

This draft defines a YANG 1.1 data model for coordinating distributed
language model (LM) deployments across heterogeneous computational
environments. The model supports a three-tier hierarchy (tiny/small/large
LMs) with secure inter-node messaging, request escalation, token-based
authorization, and pluggable trust validation.

Key technical contributions:
- YANG model for LM node topology and capabilities
- RPCs for inference requests and hierarchical escalation
- Token validation actions supporting JWT/CWT/COSE
- Heartbeat notifications for distributed system health
- Extensible security features for constrained environments

The architecture addresses the emerging need to orchestrate AI inference
across edge-to-cloud deployments, where computational resources vary
significantly between nodes. This extends network modeling principles
(similar to RFC 8345) into the AI/ML domain.

I believe this work aligns well with NETMOD's charter for developing YANG
models that enable network configuration and management. As AI systems
become more distributed and network-integrated, standardized coordination
mechanisms will become increasingly important.

I have a working prototype implementation (UniLoRa Mesh LM Hierarchy) and
would welcome the opportunity to present this work to the group for
feedback and discussion. The model has been validated with pyang and
integrated with a prototype RESTCONF endpoint but I can not figure out why
the debugger on the submission page is flagging it for RFC8407 and RFC7950
violations respectively.

Would there be interest in discussing this draft at an upcoming NETMOD
meeting or interim session? I'm happy to accommodate the group's schedule
and presentation format preferences.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to the group's
feedback on this work.

Best regards,

Keenan Williams
