Hi, Luis and Kent, Thanks a lot for the feedback. After revisiting the comment regarding the use of "device" in the document, I’ve noticed its occurrences which are primarily in two contexts throughout the draft:
1. References to RFC 8342’ s definition of system configuration: “..configuration that is supplied by the device itself.” I think no need to change it as a direct citation. 2. Mentions of "device reboot": “.. when the device is powered on…” I feel it odd to use “when the server is powered on” because this refers to physical hardware’s power-on thing. Thoughts? Additionally, some follow-up comments from Luis are incorporated in the proposed update. Please find the diff for review here: https://author-tools.ietf.org/diff?url_1=https://raw.githubusercontent.com/QiufangMa/system-config/refs/heads/main/draft-ietf-netmod-system-config-19.txt. Let me know if you have further comments. Thanks. I think your suggestion is ok, especially if that has been discussed in the past (I’m not familiar with the history of NETMOD, so not aware of that discussion). @authors, can you follow the suggestion from Kent? Catching up on this thread and noticed this exchange. - It seems along the text that device and server are used interchangeably. It would be good to clarify, or as alternative, to use one single terminology for consistency. [Qiufang] Thanks for spotting this, the following sentence has been added: "The terms "device" and "server" are used interchangeably in this document." [lmcm>>] ok I was expecting the resolution to be to replace all instance of the string "device" with the string "server". Note that "server" is a Term originally defined in RFC 6241 and later defined in RFC 8342. FWIW, when I first started publishing documents in NETCONF/NETMOD, I also used "device" initially, but was guided/convinced to always only use "server" (and "client") instead. I think this is good advice and suggest following it here as well.
