I would like to try mausezahn for generating traffic but I couldnt figure
how to. Are there any tutorials available on web? Is there any benefits for
using either one? What are the differences? Are there any benchmark on the
efficiency of these two packet generators?

trafgen:

- low level traffic generation (meaning you define bits and bytes on your own)
- flexible configuration syntax (better than e.g. pktgen)
- multi-threaded
- probably best performance from user space you can get

mausezahn:

- high level traffic generation (means you configure on protocol level)
- has built-in Cisco-CLI that can be used via telnet
- multi-threaded, but not as fast as trafgen
- speaks a lot of protocols
