Hi,

I am a firs time user of netsniff-ng and trafgen is the reason I want to
use it. What I want to do is to generate packets on tap interfaces, but I
am getting a "Networking device not running!" error; for linux virutal
links, I do not get this error and I am able to send the packets.
Is there any work around this problem, because if trafgen is working for
links, it should also work for taps?

Stuff I tried
==========

NOT Working with TAP ifcs
-------------------------
$ sudo ip tuntap add dev tap01 mode tap user $USER
$ sudo ifconfig tap01 up

$ sudo ./trafgen -b 0 -d tap01 --conf
../../../src/examples/trafgen/trafgen2.txf -n 10
Networking device not running!

Working with Virtual Eths / links
---------------------------------
$ sudo ip link add type veth
$ sudo ifconfig veth0 up
$ sudo ifconfig veth1 up

$ sudo ./trafgen -b 0 -d veth0 --conf
../../../src/examples/trafgen/trafgen2.txf -n 10
trafgen 0.5.7
1 packets to schedule
62 bytes in total
TX: 336.17 MiB, 172120 Frames, each 2048 Byte allocated
IRQ: veth0:-2 > CPU0
MD: TX fastpath RR 10us

Running! Hang up with ^C!

          10 frames outgoing
         620 bytes outgoing
           0 sec, 4 usec in total
