Hi Benjamin,

Sorry for the late reply, this slipped through. :/

Hi,

Would it be possible to have an option to curvetun to log to a logfile?

Curvetun sends to syslog, but on my system I want to avoid having a
syslog daemon.

I have made an init script and /etc/default/curvetun for booting it on
debian wheezy, if you are interested.

If generic, we could add that to the repository.

On that topic, I don't know if you could accept a debian/ dir for
debian packaging.

For debian packaging related improvements, I'd rather be happy if you
work towards upstreaming that directly into Debian (Cc'ing Kartik, who
is the Debian maintainer).

Wrt your question:

In curvetun's daemonize(), we hijack stdout and stderr to redirect
normal printf() output into syslog in daemon mode. You could specify
an option to have an alternative log file, I wouldn't mind. Could you
send a patch?

Thanks,
Daniel

The debian parallel repo:

Does not have the latest releases.

Best,
