re all,

first a premise: if a rewrite is what we are profiling now, then i'm
admittely pushing towards C, feel free to call me conservative...

i've been looking into Vala after Luca mentioned it; so far i have one
questions and one remark, grateful to those who will provide pointers:

Q- is the Vala compiler present in emdebian, working for its targets?

R- aren't higher level languages with dynamic typecasting and other
fancy features just less efficient than C in any case?

NTK was already prototyped and Alpt demonstrated that the mathematical
model behind it *works* fairly well. what we need now is not a
prototype, but an efficient implementation (and an 100% complete RFC,
but i guess that can get smoothed on the way).

AFAIK even the most advanced language features can be implemented in a
C project - with more overhead, but also more possibilities for later
optimization.
