My own suggestion, for what it's worth, would be GTK for release 2.0, as it's more approachable – it's essentially already done – then see what could be migrated into the core once the UI enhancements are complete; That as I understand it is the reason the GTK enhancements are listed specifically as GTK enhancements, as a good 'first stage', the way in to improving the core Looking at gtk_source.c, it seems to me that adding an additional middle layer of abstraction at the drawing stage would simply slow down the programme; for GTK it's far more efficient handling it itself, particularly in view of the relative simplicity of displaying a source, compared to displaying a page Best Mark http://www.halloit.com Key ID 046B65CF
