unable run netsurf

Using a netsurf 2.1 compiled from sources -with no errors, of course :)- 
this error appears when executing:

nsgtk: content/content.c:1291: content_open: Assertion `c->type < 
CONTENT_UNKNOWN' failed.

I am desapointted...
