Like Ubuntu's Firefox, and other similar organisations, NetSurf's default welcome page now uses a Google search where NetSurf gets a percentage of any advert clicks. Running NetSurf is a surprisingly expensive operation, so every penny we can gather without annoying people too much is good. Unfortunately, the 'CSE' version of the search results pages are somewhat more basic than the normal Google ones (you can see the same type of result in Firefox if you visit http://www.netsurf-browser.org/welcome/ or use Ubuntu's default welcome page search.) Ultimately, if you don't like the new search results page, you can of course set Google to your homepage, or make your own one with your favoured links, but that will of course reduce the amount of funding we can get from Google with no direct expense to you should you want to click on one of the ads. (Incidentally, the terms of service between Google and ourselves forbids me from clicking on ads ourselves, or asking others to do so on our behalf. So please don't interpret the above as a request to click on these ads regardless to send some money our way [which is about 3p a click.]) B.
