More recently, I've discovered this is not true. Without help, and when one enters a plain URL for an MSNBC menu, or even for an individual news story, Net-Tamer is caught in an endless redirection loop. However, text appended to URLs will prevent the redirection loop and take you directly to the menu or news story you need to capture and read. In Netscape or INTERNET Explorer, you'd gain access to MSNBC's News Front Page by entering this URL: http://www.msnbc.com/news/news_front.asp To get to MSNBC's News Front Page in Net-Tamer, you need only append "?ta=y" to the end of the URL so that it appears as: http://www.msnbc.com/news/news_front.asp?ta=y If you wish to access MSNBC's News Frontpage in Net-Tamer, simply place the above URL in BOOKMARK.FAV using a standard ASCII text editor and then log into your ISP with Net-Tamer followed by selection of the above URL from the F2 sub-menu which provides access to Net-Tamer's WWW "favorites" file. Similarly, Netscape or INTERNET Explorer will load a news story from the News Front Page menu on MSNBC's website without difficulty while Net-Tamer is always stuck in a redirection loop that will never end on its own. To prevent the redirection loop, you must append "?cp1=1" to the end of a news story's URL before Net-Tamer sends it. Thus, you and Net-Tamer will send a URL such as: www.msnbc.com/news/468764.asp?cp1=1 rather than the unedited default offered to you at the time you select a URL from MSNBC's News Front Page. How long this may work is not clear. But, it works for now and particularly in versions of Net-Tamer starting with 1.11.x which incorporate HTTP 1.1 support.
