My "alternative" offline reader (ReRead) offes another solution: it
has a hook-in for an HTML-stripper, it's just to mark the start (or if
need be, start and end) of a HTML-encoded passage, press the hotkey to
run the hooked-in batch that decodes that passage into a copied file,
and you can switch back and forth beween that one and the original ad
lib.
Works easy and is something for lazy people (like me). At first it was
a work-around as I pondered to integrate an own HTML-interpreter (quite
an horrible perspective to work on) but then it showed the better way,
as there are quite good HTML-stippers around; and it's "safe" in that
it doesn't effect the original in any way, and running a separate
stripper (and _not_ and interpreter) will definitely avoid falling for
webbugs. Didn't see anything yet, short of a Win$-like big mailer prog
(and there, it's - sic - HTML-interpretation wit all its pitfalls) which
would do this as easily.
